Nick and I only watch one show these days, 30 Rock. We were just talking with Nick’s family about how bad/funny it is when you become so involved with characters from a book or TV show that you have to catch yourself from telling stories about them as if they are your real-life friends. This is how I feel about my “friends” who work at 30 Rockefeller Plaza… I am so in love, and I’m not normally like this! I was pumped all day yesterday at work, looking forward to a new episode, until Nick reminded me that yesterday was Wednesday and I’d have to wait until Thursday to see it. I just think Tina Fey is so creative and thoughtful with her characters. Well, I’m looking forward to hanging out with Nick, watching some NBC and knocking out some laundry tonight. I really hope it’s a new episode after yesterday’s Wednesday/Thursday mishap.
Nick just reminded me that 30 Rock is NOT the only show we watch…his favorite is of course still The Office.

Baby Mama Monday, February 9th, 2009 by Kim
Every day when I leave work, it’s like a maze dodging little four-year-olds running around in their tiny black leotards & pink tights. Madness. It’s amazing how you really have to watch and anticipate where children are going, because they often don’t look for themselves. So, though I admit, I sometimes lament with my co-workers over the gauntlet we must cross to make it out the door, I secretly, or not so secretly, find it really amusing. I especially like watching the little siblings who are just along for the ride and have to endure the wait for their big brother or sister to come down the stairs ready to go home for dinner after class. I had to laugh one day at one of these little girls just hanging on to the side of the water fountain, rocking and staring at her moving reflection. It was more than just her curly red hair that made me see myself doing the same thing.
For some reason today as I was leaving and saw a mom pushing her baby, it clicked that my sister is a mom. Like with a child. I don’t think that’s something that will just click once though. I think it will keep clicking at random times when I think about how huge it is or when I see some aspect of what motherhood means and realize my sister is one to someone now. But who am I to say? I’ve only got three months of aunt-hood under my belt.
Brayden is so entertaining and still growing like a weed! The highlight of the weekend was hearing him giggle! It’s still a rarity, so I felt honored. It’s like he couldn’t contain how funny being bounced on his papa’s (Ray’s dad) head was, and it just flowed out. His face has changed so much. We think we know what he looks like now, but it’s crazy that he could just keep morphing and look different next month…probably won’t “morph” too dramatically, but you never know.
Here are some adorable photos of the little prince:

Scoober & Chocolate…not a good mix Saturday, February 7th, 2009 by Kim
Well, it’s been a long time since we’ve posted anything, but it’s been anything but slow around here. Last weekend was a much anticipated girl weekend at Amanda’s new apartment…naturally, chocolate was in abundance. We thought it would be a great idea for Scoober to stay with the girls as well, because he loves us. When we first got there, we even had a conversation about dogs eating chocolate. However, that wasn’t enough to make us think twice about leaving Scoober alone at an apartment with a bowl of chocolates on the coffee table. A bowl of dark chocolate Dove’s actually. We returned from a late night Walmart run to Scoobs tap dancing around the apartment with seriously bloodshot eyes. The best part is that the bowl he ate from had a mixture of Dove’s & Hershey’s kisses. Only the Dove’s were missing though! Seriously! Like mother like son, I guess. To avoid killing you with suspense and possibly grossing anyone out with details, I’ll just say that he’s a-okay now! But man, it was a scary night!! Aside from the drama with Scoober, it was a wonderful time with some of my best friends! I just love how comfortable we are together, and I love to be reminded of how much time we always spend laughing together.
Nick and I also celebrated our 6 month-iversary on February 2!! We had a delicious dinner at Carabba’s & topped it off with ice cream after the poor waiter ran through our options about five times. oops! It was topped with glazed pecans, and they reminded me of the glazed almonds in Disney World!
Here are some photos Nick took on our exploration pit stop on our drive home. Luling, Texas made for some good exploring, but the smell of oil made it almost unbearable!
