Here we are! April 20th, 2010 by Kim
Here we are in San Francisco! (this is actually the first time since arrival that I’ve felt the need to sing, Rice-a-Roni! A San Francisco treat!) One thing I must say: Muir Woods is amazing. A-mazing. It was truly the most peaceful place I’ve ever been. I really enjoyed just walking around, praying, thinking, observing and taking in as much as I could. Photos simply will not do it justice. I saw a humongo “banana slug”, which Nick explained is the 2nd largest slug in the world. Who knew?
Okay, so we’re actually in Sonoma now. Just a beautiful place so far! I feel so beyond spoiled just for being here and enjoying everything so much. This evening we got to know some neighbors at our b&b/hotel whatev over wine & cheese in the “parlor” & then ate dinner with them at the cutest restaurant –that we were able to walk to. The rainy drizzle didn’t even bother me a bit! It was kind of cozy, sitting inside the colorful and cutesy place watching the rain and chatting with Sandy and Al. Oh yeah, did I mention they’re celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary?
Annnd may I add that I was beyonnnd ready for dinner at about 5:30pm and as Nick reminded me, we had a really late lunch…Sometimes I have to laugh at us…maybe we’re old souls!
…Don’t worry: photo of the extraterrestrial slug to come.

muir woods is really cool! I’ve been in that area for camp in 4th grade….and in order to sign “the book” you had to place a banana slug on your nose!!! (of course I did it!) they are huge and gross huh?! Glad you are enjoying Sandy and Al….and Cali!
Kim! We must catch up soon. I think Carlos and I may go up there between our birthdays!
Recently I did a search on the issue and found a good number of persons will agree with your blog.
